STC’s Tapioca Business Group provides services in procuring, storage and exporting tapioca based raw materials namely tapioca chips and pellets under the auspices of Sang Thai Bangpakong Company Limited and General Mills Corporation Limited with modern tapioca pelletizing factories and large storage facilities. STC’s Tapioca Business Group is regarded as having played a significant role in continuous business operations over a long period of time until being recognized as a leading producer and trader of tapioca products. At the same time the quality of the products has always maintained a high standard as evident from how well they are received by the market. The Group’s core business is in producing and exporting tapioca products, mainly tapioca pellets and chips, as well as other products such as tapioca starch and tapioca waste, which are exported globally for the past 40 years to such countries in the European Union as the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium and Russia; in Asia such as China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Indonesia; and in Africa such as South Africa.
Presently, STC’s Tapioca Business Group has adapted it business strategy by expanding production and exporting eucalyptus woodchips as well as fuel wood pellets. The main company in the Group which is currently driving business operations is General Mills Corporation Limited in terms of tapioca products (tapioca chips and pellets) while Sang Thai Bangpakong Company Limited is focusing on the woodchip and fuel wood pellet business.

1977 | Established a tapioca pelletizing factory under the name of Central Grain Company Limited in Muang District of Nakhon Ratchasima Province to engage in production and export |
1979 | Established a tapioca pelletizing factory under the name of Cassava Industrial Company Limited in Bangpakong District of Chachoengsao Province to engage in production and export |
1981 | Established a tapioca pelletizing factory under the name of General Mills Corporation Limited in Bangsai District of Phra Nakhon Si Ayudhya Province |
1982 | Established STC Tapioca Group Company Limited to engage in the freight transport business in Sriracha District of Chonburi Province. |
Acquisition, storage, production and export of bulk goods consisting of tapioca chips, tapioca pellets, eucalyptus woodchips and fuel wood pellets via ocean liner or container cargo amounting to not less than 500,000 tons per annum with a production process at modern tapioca pelletizing factories, at a combined production capacity of 800,000 tons per annum and large storage facilities which can stockpile up to 600,000 tons.
Since STC’s Tapioca Business Group deal mainly with bulk goods, it has a competitive advantage in terms of the location of its production plants and storage facilities with Sang Thai Bangpakong Company Limited situated on the Bangpakong River and General Mills Corporation Limited situated on the Chao Phraya River. This allows for easy loading and unloading as well as transfer of large volumes of goods by boat on to sea-faring cargo ships.
